Brings back the horror factor in an enjoyable but short DLC.

User Rating: 8 | Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares PS3
Resident Evil 5 could, arguably, be said to lean more towards action then horror. This DLC leans more towards horror and puzzles, requiring little in terms of fighting.

From the start, the atmosphere is haunting and creepy, helped by the music, the lighting and the lightening. Then, just in case you were starting to feel reassured, the game will pull out a surprise to give a little chill. The surprises are well done, sometimes giving a scare, sometimes throwing in another puzzle, keeping the game fresh. The area's are different from each other, the first part paying tribute to the past and hiding some inventive bonus points to discover, the second darker and more of a maze.

When needed, the solid shooting system of Resident Evil 5 serves it's purpose here but that is rare. More often, the game will require some thinking to sort out the puzzles, easy enough but some will take a few goes, none frustrate. The checkpoint system is well spaced while the files make for intresting reading, though the characters barely have time for further development.

It is short, only an hour or two long, which may be too little for some but for those who try it, they will get something different from the main game, something that is well done.
