The first Resident Evil game I have ever played, and it checks out OK. *MINOR SPOILER ALERT*

User Rating: 9 | Resident Evil 5 (Collector's Edition) PS3
Christmas of 2009, I received Resident Evil 5 as a gift from my older brother. I didn't know that the game would be sitting on the shelf for 8 months until I actually started playing it. Two weeks ago I was pretty bored with Final Fantasy 13 and I wanted to take a break from it. I remember this game and why I never played it. then I'm just like "Well why not?". I pop this bad boy in and I don't put the controller down for another 3 hours.

NOTE: this is the first Resident Evil game I have ever played, and I have heard that it feels nothing like other game sin the series.

STORY- 9.0

The Story for this game didn't really catch me at first. Although it was the 5th one in the series, thus making it an awkward place to start off. I just ignored it at first and then I HAD to find out what it was all about. I got on Wikipedia and studies the story line and it's various friends and foes. I am intrigued by the amazing story with all of these characters. I hear about this bad guy from other game who apparently has been in numerous Resident Evil games and he just will no go away. So this excites me, because what if he was in 5? I play on and he is! This made me very happy because maybe I could kill him? Anyways, The Story line sort of carries on from the other games. You are playing as Chris Redfield, a hero from some of the other games. As your sexy sidekick, You have Sheva Alomar, A new character to the series. You both are after a man who holds some kind of information about a bio weapons deal, and at first you need to look for him which takes you on a many of splodin' heads and epicness. I won't get into the story that much because I don't wan't to spoil it even more. It's a great story line that ties up a long time loose end for the series.

GAMEPLAY- 9.0

Resident Evil games are known for their zombies and monster, who you indeed get to kill along the way. the game takes you through environments such as an African city, a marshland, and even as far and a huge boat at sea.
Along the way, you need to kill the zombies and move on? Sounds pretty simplistic right? Wrong! Along the way you can collect money to buy and upgrade new weapons that become unlocked to you. Each weapon has it's own firepower, reload time, and clip size rating. You need to improve the weapons to get in order to make your job easier. It can get as easy as finding weapons in suitcases that you can use. Every weapon is good for it's own situation. This game has very fun and exciting gameplay that will keep you occupied for hours.

This game didn't even really scare me at all, which is what I thought it was supposed to do. I went through the entire game without even getting legitimately scared even once. It was just kind of exciting rather than scary. Seriously, it is REALLY exciting. You get a boss fight as early as the second level, and many more than that one. Capcom utilized game time nicely. Which bring me to my next point.

This game, I found to be rather short. I beat it in 3 or 4 days, which was pretty disappointing to me. The boss fight are kind of crammed together and it makes it feel way to...linear. Kind of like "Ok, We've moved on...now let's go here!" I heard from one reliable source that Resident evil 4 was over 40 hours long. If that's true I'll definitely be checking that one out.

This game is also playable online, which PROBABLY means you need a good teammate or else it will ruin this. Online is fun with a friend, and you blast your ways through the level together. You both have to ration your ammo as it may be hard to find. Have no fear! You can unlock UNLIMITED ammo through an exchange store with points you obtain through the game.

I love the gameplay for this game just because...it's exciting and it kept me occupied for a fair amount of time.

GRAPHICS - 9.0

As you work your way through the game you can enjoy the amazing graphics. Everything is in good contrast and shading as you explode some brains. The environment puts you in the mood of shooting at stuff. There's dead bodies to looks at and radio broadcasts from the HQ to listen to. The blood in this game looks very animated. If doesn't look like you REALLY shot the zombie. The graphics for this game are very good. You can really feel like your in the environment.

SOUND- 8.5

The sounds on this game sound morbid and deathly. You hear creepy yet exciting music. As you are in a fight with some enemies you can listen to the music that makes you go "oh noes". the sounds of the guns SEEM realistic. All of the weapons sound different which is good. You can shoot a gun and you can make jumps feeling as if it kind of happened next to you. Pretty good sound

VALUE- 9.0

You can get this great game for 15 bucks these days. That seems worth it for a two year old game now doesn't it? You can find this game ANYWHERE and it's a great game for the money. This is a great buy for the single player loner looking for some good fun. Good Game...good buy.

WRAP UP- 9.0

Resident Evil 5 is the perfect game for an action love and a Resident Evil lover. You can shoot your way through they game with many different weapons and just have a blast! If you haven't played this, it's time you have! Go get it, man!
