A slight stretch from classic RE horror, but a shotgun blast to play.

Having been a long time fan of RE, and someone who has not only followed the series since its birth but also have read numerous books and memorabilia relating to the series, I consider my points valid. Some *SLIGHT SPOILERS* do follow so beware.

Story and Characters- Sure there are some random elements added, and some things about the story are slightly strange, but overall it felt like a RE game. And thats what really matters. The inclusion of Chris and other classic characters had me ecstatic, and the new addition of Sheva surprised me as quite capable and awesome in her own regard. Without giving away too much, the game does a great job with cut scenes and probably has the best ones out of the series.

Graphics and Audio- Everything feels just right. Guns sound great, music score is exhilarating when it needs to be, perfect here.

Gameplay- I rejoiced when I found out the game was co-op. Having played through it with my partner in crime BlitzzAttack (She should be reviewing it soon) the essence of having played it with a partner boosts the effect of the game two fold. I can't comment on the AI because of not playing alone, but its awesome otherwise. I only wish there were more collaboration efforts and some alternate paths to split the characters up occasionally to work together. It felt like these faded away a lot after being introduced. Also, the exclusion of puzzles was disappointing, and the small ones that were added were far more annoying than needed to be. I'm not going to say much about not being able to move and shoot, although it would be nice, because this topic has been beaten to death already. But other than that I had no problems with the controls. The extras included are amazingly fun, and the mercenaries mode is captivating. The exclusion of a true "Horror" aspect of the game was slightly sad, and hopefully Capcom will add some more terrifying and pop out scare moments in the future.

Overall a fantastic co-op experience and fun game. All though not as exhilarating as RE4 and powerful, still manages to be a very fun and exciting experience that for sure has a chance to grow and become a masterpiece.
