Resident Evil 5 starts off great but adds little to the RE formula and losses its charm towards the end.

Resident Evil 5 follows in the footsteps of 4 bet never actually reaches the level of greatness set by it's older brother. Although the developers tried to add to the formula of Resident Evil 4 by adding Coop, altering item organization, and taking the combat to a sunny outdoor environment the game does not feel fresh enough or well executed enough to be perfect.

At the start of the game i found myself loving the intense action and frights found in the heat of Africa but as the game moves on i found that the environments became less interesting then the areas featured at the first hours of the game.

The Coop was well done and great when playing with a friend, playing solo was also a blast do to excellent AI for your partner. The one complaint with the Ai Sheva was her love of the pistol, it was the only gun she would use unless she ran out of amo. Although coop was a good idea and well executed it was not necessary and it did not add to the experience.

Resident Evil 5 is a great game with fun controls and a compelling story line that will keep you going although a few short comings keep it from being a classic, it is a must play.
