So, Maybe I am an action/ action-adventure junky!

Resident Evil 5 is one of the better games I've played in recent months. It follows that story of Chris Redfield and Sheeva Alomar as the hunt down a mad scientist and eventually discovers an even more devious plot laid out by Albert Wesker, a former foe of Chris's in the remote African nation of Kijuju.
The game starts you out with in intro to Sheeva and you're on your way.

The story is pretty cut and dry. You look for someone while looking for a long lost someone and eventually you find them both. While not inspiring, the story is definitely driven buy very detailed cut-scenes (which I believe are cinematically filter in-game graphics).

Speaking of graphics, this game does not disappoint. Lots of bad guys onscreen at once, Lots of explosion going off, great details on all NPC and while Chris looks like he idolized Jose Conseco, both he and Sheeva looks great too.

Through out the game, you'll be introducing to many different level types and all of them are very well detailed as well. There are 5 chapters in the game and must of them will introduce you to new, harder enemies that will challenge you and your upgrades.

The game also features a few (less popular) QTE (quick time events) and a rail cart section. These don't take away from the game. But on harder difficulties you might find yourself throwing your controller every once in a while.

As mention earlier, there are 2 protagonists in the game. Through out the whole game, Chris and Sheeva will be side by side either with an AI controlled Sheeva (you can use Sheeva your second play though on single player) or with a buddy. I highly recommend a buddy! The AI for the most part will take care of his/her self but sometimes they are of no use to you. A particular problem I faced was trying to get Sheeva to use a different weapon other then her handgun. I have her Shot gun and loaded her inventory full of ammo for it leaving her with about equal amounts of ammo for both her handgun and shotgun. When we would get into a jam, instead of her whipping out her much needed shotgun, she'd take Harlem Nights pop shots with her handgun rendering her almost completely useless. I decided to strip her of her handgun rights. She then used the shotgun but with no knowledge that she was unable to snip with it. Eventually I just gave up and used her as a mule.

You have the option of using either local play or going online with a friend and co-oping the game together (and even a more recent versus mode that is available for download) you even have the option to due the Mercs mode together. These modes work seamlessly online and Capcom deserve big thumbs up for that.

Even though the controllers work well enough for RE5s style of game play, there are some problems with how the characters control. You cannot run in shot your gun. This is an every weird decision to me. Yes, all Resident Evils are like that but it is an annoyance to not be able to shot will backing up. The inventory system is very limiting. I'm guessing it was support to add to that whole survival horror theme but it comes off as punishing the more you progress through the game. Actually attaching takes 2 buttons to do and slow turns are all things people may be turned off by.

All and all RE5 is about 10-15 hours long and more then likely you'll find yourself playing through it a few times to try and get the tons of unlock about the game offers. I really can't say "If you like all the other RE, then you'll love this" but if you like RE4 you should at least rent 5. This game may put some vets of the Resident evil series off, but it will (and has) expanded the fan base of the series.
