Resident Evil 5 is a really atmospheric survival horror game that is as great as it's amazing predecessor.

WESKER'S THE MAN
Resident Evil is one of Capcom's greatest video game franchises that has been frightening survival horror fans for 15 years. The first games were really atmospheric action adventure games, but since Resident Evil 4, the main series has been pretty much zombie shooting with light puzzles and some adventuring. Maybe turning on the shooting gear was a great thing to do because RE4 was an amazing masterpiece that many PS2 and Gamecube owners played and loved. Now Resident Evil 5 comes and abandons Leon Kennedy to have the muscular tough guy Chris Redfield take the lead role along with his new female sidekick, Sheva Alomar. And I'm sure many Resident Evil fans are happy to hear that the main villain is Capcom's very own bad ass, Albert Wesker.
ZOMBIES UNDER THE SUN
Chris Redfield goes to work in Africa with his partner Sheva Alomar to stop a man named Ricardo Irving from selling a bio-organic weapon on the black market. There they learn that lots of the locals there have been transformed into Majini zombies. As the player progresses in the game, lots of scary details will be revealed like the Uroboros project that Wesker is running.
DETAILED ZOMBIES
The graphics are top-notch. The scenery is very detailed and beautiful and the characters look great. There are lots of different, in some creepy way, beautiful, areas that the player get to visit like dark caves, pitch black underground tunnels, native villages, infected towns, large ship decks and more. The cutscenes are very nice looking, too.
SHOOTING SOME ZOMBIES
The gameplay is pretty straight-forward shooting with some pretty easy puzzles and also some refreshing old school adventuring. The controls of RE have always been pretty stiff and you still can't move when you're aiming at someone, but you will get used to them and everything else works pretty well. There are also some RE4 style quick-time events in the game that work really well. You can strengthen your weapons with the money you get from breaking barrels and they are scattered around the playing areas in the form of gold and also you get lots of it when you sell jewels, pearls, sapphires and more that can be found and also won from killing boss villains. And this is RE, of course there are lots of crazy boss fights!
WHAT WAS THAT?
The soundtrack is pretty much silency in the background or dramatic classical music. Nothing special to listen to, but when it works in the background, it works perfectly. The voice acting works well and special credits go to Wesker's voice actor.
LOTS OF ZOMBIES
The game is pretty lengthy as the main story mode takes to complete about 10-15 exciting, action-filled hours. The co-op 2 player mode is pure gold. The AI of Sheva may not be great in one player mode, but when you play RE5 with a friend, it is really great fun, I can say that.
OVERALL: Resident Evil 5 has all it takes to be a top-notch survival horror game. Great graphics, lots of different zombies, Hollywood-style cutscenes, interesting story and playing the game is genuinely fun and scary at the same time. RE4 was amazing and so is RE5.
+ Pros: Great graphics, interesting story, characters, shooting works, scary atmosphere, lots of different beautiful areas
- Cons: Player is unable to move when aiming, Sheva's AI is not top notch
REAL SCORE: 9.3
