I love the Resident Evil series except for Res 4. This had a great story line - but game play was sketchy...

The game was decent no doubt about that but as I say the game was made worsened in my opinion with the stiff game play and at times difficult controlling.

I enjoyed the story and was truly addicted to that aspect - however there were lots of zombies, too many in fact and this made it lack that scary atmosphere like I experienced in the Raccoon City aspect of the game.
Too many zombies in RES5 reminded me of Dead Rising with that claustrophobic atmosphere.

In the mix there are scary monsters i.e. black sludge thing, mutated dogs, chainsaw wielding black dudes, especially the boss at the end, even some native primal and tribal zombies, big troll thing, crocodiles and so on.

To conclude:

Positives:
-Nice atmosphere and world
-Addictive story
-Excitement - a few pop up scares
-Lives up to the Survival Horror brand
-Captures African country feel nicely

Negatives:
-Lacking scary atmosphere - such as Dead Space
-Stiff controls
-Movements can be sticky
-Too many zombies
