A travesty which Resident Evil fans will not soon forget

I've been playing Resident Evil games since the original on PS1, and I had been eagerly anticipating this game for some time. No one could have approached this game with a more positive mindset. Then I played it. I have to agree with Kevin Van Ord's assessment of the game. You have so little control it's frustrating. You will spend more time watching cutscenes than actually playing. At the rare times when you can move around, the movement is herky-jerky and annoying. Other than that, you'll basically be watching a scripted story and getting prompted to press a button once in a while to make sure you're still awake. I can't understand how anyone could playtest this game and say, "this is fun." I would have thought that early in production they would have realized that they needed to change direction, but I imagine there must be a lot of sycophants on the development team who allowed this crappy game to happen. If you're a big fan of the series like myself and must play this game no matter what anyone says, rent it first or wait for the price drop... and then get ready for the heartbreak of seeing a great series turn to garbage.
