I could understand the hate for the 5th one but this one was actually really good.
Chris Reidfields campaign was outstanding.(and may be the best) throughout the Resident Evil games that I have played I never honestly liked Chris that much in Resident Evil Revelations he was alright, and in Resident Evil 5 his reputation was honestly ruined for me, but on this one I have never respected him more, First off I will talk about the story Chris doesn't want to go and fight for the BSAA because he is down because of all the men he lost in the past, so a guy named Piers goes to him and says that he is giving up on those men because he is not fighting for their cause, there's a big fight scene and he finally agree to help the cause out again, As you will progress Ada Wong(or what is believed to be Ada Wong) traps everyone besides Piers and Chris, because they are able to get away the rest of the platoon is not so lucky and so after that the whole Chris campaign is going after Ada Wong. The missions are great and there are some really great boss battles in this one, the story is outstanding on this one, (Spoiler Alert) As you get to the end of the Chris Campaign Piers ends up getting his arm cut off by the final boss, this forces him to inject himself with the C virus to regrow his arm and stay alive, The final boss fight is really amazing and I really loved it, and the story made it even better, as they defeat the final boss Chris and Piers have to look for an escape pod to get off a submarine that is about to be submerged, once Chris gets in the escape pod Piers closes and makes it take off, knowing that this will make Chris survive but this will lead up to Piers doom. A perfect ending to a near flawless campaign, and then after that a new partner tells Chris that they need to go and Chris follows him right away this shows that he has changed because of his respect for Piers, and this part really touched me.
Next is Jake Mueller's campaign this one for the most part is also a pretty good campaign not the best but still a good campaign there will be a lot of stealth elements in this one and they work quite well, and there are many times where you must run away from this huge zombie like thing I don't know what his name is lol but most of the missions are based on this. The story for this one is simple Sherry must take Jake back to a government base where they can use his blood for a cure for the C virus, because he is immune to it, overall just a good campaign.
The last campaign is Ada Wong's it's great, Ada Wong is really cool and I could see what Leon see's in her. The campaign itself is pretty good she uses a hang glider thing to get around and it's really cool she goes throughout the whole game pretty much helping everyone while trying to get away from Chris and Piers because she has been cloned and the other clone is wreaking havoc on them, there really is some interesting areas on this one and I really just enjoyed this one immensely.
So I want to talk about the review on this game Kevin Vanord's review of a 4.5, I get that it's just an opinion but it's not true. First off he talks about the quicktime events and how there are so many, well first of all what did he expect this is Resident Evil and there are always quicktime events and then he goes on to say that there are some where you need superhuman skills to do them, are you serious? Maybe you just suck because I never had one problem catching up with the quicktime events. Then he goes on to talk about gotcha deaths which means if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time you die while I will agree with him that this is annoying, after the first time you die from it you should never have a problem with it again. Let's be honest he shouldn't have reviewed this game; there isn't truly a lot of bad things he had said that showed that this game deserves a 4.5. So if you are thinking about getting this game don't go off of his review.
While this isn't a carbon copy of the original Resident Evil series, it still is a fun game, there is some horror in this game very little but some and that's okay with me Resident Evil is evolving and I guess I can respect that, most people don't want it too but it just is and as long as it has enjoyable gameplay that's okay with me, There isn't a lot of ammo in this one well there is less then Resident Evil 5 and in some areas of the game there is a lot and I think that's good enough for me. Overall if you are expecting Resident Evil 4 then you won't like this game, but if you give this game a chance then you will definitely like it, all I could say is that Resident Evil fan or not give this game a chance.
