I have to say, after seeing the disastrous reviews on this game before I got my hands on it, I was scared. After putting time into the game Co-op with a friend I came to realize how wrong the reviewers where. The game did not fall short of my expectations, some may argue that it does not follow the formula that previous RE instalments did but its not necessarily a bad thing. The action and gun play are well designed, the graphics may not be the most stunning by today's standards but are still rather pleasant to look at, new features such as 3 different campaigns starring some returning veterans of the series ie Chris Redfield in his action packed campaign with his new partner Piers, Leon S. Kennedy and his partner Helena, newcomer Jake Wesker and his partner Sherry Birkins who some might know from RE2 and unlockable campaign for Ada Wong. Though each campaign features its own play style: Chris being action oriented, Leon being horror/suspense and Jake being a mix of both emphasiving on CQC and chase scenes and Ada Wong being stealth and puzzle gameplay, I found Chris' to be the least enjoyable out of the 4 because of the high emphasis on gunplay and mutated enemies became a drag to fight after a while. By far my favorite had to be Jake's followed by Leon's. The story might not always make sense and character motivations might get mixed up in a bunch but the game was still very enjoyable and was packed with some goodies like previous RE titles, from medals to figurines with a mercenaries mode thrown in to keep you coming back to top the leaderboards with your own score. Agent Hunt is a new feature in which players can join games and play as the infected in order to halt progress and make the game more challenging. In all honesty I really enjoyed the game and did not think it was worth the 4.5 Gamespot rated it to be. To me this game deserves a 9 out of 10.
So far I have had fun playing this game. Now don't get me wrong true Resident Evil Players its definitely not like the classic's we love. Instead of bashing the game we have to try to understand what Capcom is doing here... Read Full Review
