Great Game.

User Rating: 9.1 | Resident Evil Code: Veronica X PS2
After so many years, one would think the series would have ran out of steam after using the same game play engine after so long. Resident Evil: Code veronica X proves this wrong and although it is a port of the dream cast game, it still lives up to the expectations that are expected from it.

Game play:

Anyone who has played one of the Resi games for the PS1 should be able to remember what the game play was like (Characters that move like tanks, item collecting etc.)
This is exactly the same in this game and there are hardly any changes made to this compared to the previous games. The fixed camera angles are the same. The door loading sequence is (unfortunately) still here and so is everything else. But when thinking of some the frights this game offers it definitely makes up with them and the game play as much as it remains unchanged is still very good.

Graphics + sound:

Unlike the game play, the graphics of Code Veronica are superb in everyway. The cut scenes are amazing to watch. the animation of all the characters and enemies is excellent and many of them are scary to watch as they are frightening.
There is hardly any slowdown and this makes the game so much more fun to play.
CVX provides some great sound effects and music to back up its scary game play and it works very well. The guns all sound exactly like they should as well as other sound effects as well. The music in the game ranges from industrial to orchestra style battle themes to help tie the action together and it helps in making it a more atmosphere.

Lifespan:

The game doesn’t have as many extras as many games do on the PS2 console but it does have a few notable extras such as some of the unlock able weapons in the game as well as some of the bonus modes as well but you’ll probably keep playing the single player game the most as that contains most of the content.

Conclusion:

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X is a great game. The game play might seem old and the story may not be as interesting as the previous games but the frights still remain and that is where the thrill of CVX is most evident. I strongly recommended this to fans of the Resi Evil series.
