Pleasure cruise of death!

User Rating: 8.4 | Resident Evil: Dead Aim PS2
Yay, another game in the largely popular Resident Evil Series. In Dead Aim, you take control of Bruce McGivern, who has been sent to investigate an abondoned sea cruiser in the middle of the meditteranean. Soon after arriving, you find out your not the only one on the boat, the only difference is that the others aren't alive. So really, this is a traditional Resi game. There are all the appearances of everyone's favourite monsters, hunters, glimmers, tyrants and the zombie flesh eaters themselves. There are the average Resi guns, however, there aren't really many differences between them. Capcom have made this game another first/third person game that is also compatible with a light gun, meaning you can really feel the action, unfortunately it is flawed. With a light gun, moving is very fiddly and with a normal controller, moving the gun's crosshair can be annoyingly delicate. The graphics, as can be seen, have changed, making the zombies look not so realistic as in other games, although you can still see that this is Capcom style throughout. The way that the story moves on is pretty good but with back tracking present, its a bit tedious. The music is definitely Resi, in save rooms you have the typical piano music and in the action you've got the heart thumping beats and when theres nothing you can hear the enviroment groaning and moving around you. The combination of realistic zombie moans and the darkness of the surroundings, it really makes you sweat in suspense. There is replay value, but only replaying the whole game, or you can play it again as the secondary character Fong Ling, but its not really any different. Ultimately, you can complete this Resident Evil in less than 3 hours if your good and under 5 hours in hard if your better. This is because the game is way too easy, with no limit to healing items and them being spread out everywhere, you never die. If you are a Resi fan like me and want to reminisce in a modern day Resident Evil Gun Survivor, get this. If your looking for a more intense and more depth filled Resi, get Resi Evil Remake, Resi Evil 0 or Resi 4.
