Unless you're a RE fanatic that needs every game for your collection, make this a rental.
GAMEPLAY - Give credit to Capcom for trying something different by switching from 3rd person to first person during attacks, and it is awkward at first but does not take too long to get used to. The problem is with a particular boss fight that requires accurate and quick shooting, something that I have trouble with when using that perspective on the PS2. Definitely not up to the style used in RE4.
GRAPHICS - A mixed bag here. The lighting effect was very good at giving a creepy and somewhat realistic look to the background. The characters and monsters were not very detailed, certainly not to the level seen in the Gamecube Remake and RE0. Movie scenes were above average.
SOUND - The sounds that were used were done well, though this is a game where the conditions call for a silent atmosphere. Typical decent RE style music.
VALUE - This is one of the shortest games I've ever played. I finished this in about 4 hours. It may take someone longer but that would only be due to possibly having trouble finding hidden items that are needed to progress. As usual this can be replayed at a higher difficulty but compared to other RE games this is pretty weak at gaming hours per dollar.
SUMMARY - I realize that this game is not part of the series of RE games that progress the story, but still have to say that it is definitely the weakest RE game I have played. Given the very short length I cannot recommend buying this game unless you can get it at a bargain bin price or as a rental.
