The first and only Resident Evil on the Game Boy Color, not too bad but not too great either

Resident Evil Gaiden is a non-canon spinoff in the Resident Evil series for the Game Boy Color, for those who don't know, canon means the events of a story takes place, and non-canon means the events of a story are unrelated to the story or the events never took place at all. In RE Gaiden the events of this game never took place. Unlike most of the Resident Evil games, the gameplay of Gaiden while exploring is that from a top down perspective and whenever you encounter enemies and engage in battle the game changes to a first person point of view. There are 3 playable characters, Barry Burton, Leon S. Kennedy, and a girl named Lucia. The story of the game takes place on a cruise ship where a B.O.W. outbreak has occurred and S.T.A.R.S member Barry Burton has been assigned a mission there to track down the whereabouts of Leon S. Kennedy, eventually all hell breaks loose and Barry loses contact with the headquarters. During the game you encounter a girl named Lucia who has some kind of power where she can sense the presences of the B.O.W's. Thats all the story I will give out and I haven't even beaten this game, though all I know is that the ending of this game would have made the events of RE4, RE5, and RE6 impossible. If you want to find out the rest try your very hardest to track down a copy of this game, I got my copy by luck when I was in 8th grade and a kid on the bus mentioned that he had this game and let me have it for free. Despite the Game Boy Color's limitations the game's graphics are pretty good, and the gameplay is pretty simple as well, but this is far from one of the best Residents Evil's out there. A big flaw of this game (for me at least) is that the game's data sometimes gets erased, IDK if this is in every version of the game or just with my copy, if anyone has this same problem I would like to know. Resident Evil Gaiden is a mediocre at best Resident Evil game, I would only recommend getting this game if you are a die hard Resident Evil fan such as myself.
