The GC Version makes the PS1 Version look like it never existed! A Work of art, a true sight for all to see!
That is the one word I am sure all of us GameCube afficionados have used when starting this game up and seeing the beauty of this game from the masterfully remake of the intro movie, to the very end of the game itself. After 2 years of faithfull playing I still, to this day find myself saying "Wow! What a game!"
The game has been remade/revamped by at least 70%. From the graphics, to the sound, to some new puzzles, to the extremely hard to deal with Crimson Head Zombies, Capcom has always had a way of capturing our attention. They have this time, hook line and sinker.
The Graphics and sound alone give you a sense that (when playing alone, at night) something in your blood begins to crawl. Your hair stands up, you find yourself generally scared... oh, wait I wasnt scared, haha i'm a big boy! We've all said it, but admit it, this game will scare the hell out of you! It can be too hard at times, dealing with the Crimson Head Zombies, and the new Hunters. The puzzles can also give you a sense of dread, and at times have you wanting to just turn the system off and play something else. But a game of this degree, you never could bring yourself to turn it off.
A few new things emerge that bring new life to the game, like harder, different looking enemies, and the defense items which are so ingenius, and loved for getting you out of a sticky situation that involves you, a zombie and a very narrow hallway. Both Jill and Chris can use a Dagger that they'll lodge into the Zombies head, causing it to stagger, or fall down, allowing you time to manuever and run around it. They each have a special item. Jill has a taser, nothing better than sending 10,000 volts through and Zombie and laughing maniaclly at the sparks that zap through it's flesh. Chris has a stun grenade that he'll feed 'em (literally) and watch the fireworks.
Capcom has done an excellent job in it's remake. This game is not for the faint of heart... but it IS for Resident Evill buff's, such as myself who want the old RE1 days, but soo much better!
