O.K. lets be honest, as soon as this game was announced, gamecube owners were left overjoyed. I wasn't disappointed.

Ever since I played Resident Evil for the playstation I was just blown away. Really it was the one game that degined survival horror. However, things have changed alot since then. Games have improved, better graphics have allowed for better scares and now the sound in games has been very much improved so now you can hear those zombies moan and groan like never before. Unlike most other games, this one makes full use of all those capabilities. Only then it takes them further than most ohter games do. The first thing you notice when you start playing this game is that the dreadful acted out starting sequence is gone and replaced with a beautiful cutscene that is freefrom the dreadful acting and graphics that push the gamecube to its absolute limits. Once you get inside the now infamous spencer mansion, You begin to notice the really drastic changes. For example, when you get to the dining room as Jill. Remember when Barry kneels down? Yep, the painfully bad voices have been replaced. Even now I still can't get over that one line "I sure hope that is'nt chris's blood". Terrible. Also, most remakes see the original game just getting a makeover with better graphics and sound but this game is different. Capcom have really pushed the boat out and included a completely new boss. Her name is Lisa Trevor but thats all I'll say. For any of you who want any background info on her, then read Weskers Report 2. This game has definitely set the standard for any other remakes. Unfortunately the other games weren't given the same treatment. I'd definitely advise anyone who likes a scare or anyone who played the original to get this. It is in every sense of the word astounding. A word of warning though, this game is by no means easy, especially now that zombie dogs can now rip out your throat and zombies have to be decapitated or incinerated or else they will come back as the very nasty crimson heads. It is also very gory(although not on the same scale as say... God of War) This game is definitely not for the squemish. To end this review, I would just like to thank capcom for doing the original game justice and for bringing me and so many others so much enjoyment.
