I've played the 1st Resistance and was quite satisfied with it, but is just didn't feel complete. I saw that the second one came out and definitely wanted to give it a try. Well let me tell you, this game evolved VERY nicely from the first and is much more satisfying and balanced!

There have been some changes from the first game. One of the first things you'll notice is that the control scheme is much more intuitive this time around. The environments and character models are much more attractive. The enemies are quicker and smarter as well to the point of being unnerving! And speaking of unnerving, you can only carry two guns at once this time around and it works very well in keeping the tension high. Thankfully, the game guides you into each section easily enough with providing you with the gun and ammo that will help you defeat the enemies in the area. Though, I did find a strange bug in the game where I would see a gun on the ground, say like a shotgun, and I would go to pick it up only to pick up a different gun. Or I wouldn't be able to pick a gun up that I had ammo to until I dropped the gun I had and then picked up the other gun...but these issues only happened a handful of times and weren't much of a big deal. You'll also notice that the boss fights are much more epic and satisfying! I'll admit though, this game does seem somewhat easier than it's predesessor, but it definitely feels less frustrating and more satisfyingly challenging.

There will be many times you experience a sense of awe when you see the size of some of the monsters you'll be fighting and the amount that come at you. They literally come in swarms sometimes, and even better, you'll rarely experience any slow down with everything that's happening on screen. It's also nice that your teammates are more helpful now and actually have their own identities and are part of the story instead of just being generic soldiers. You'll even feel more of a connection to the protagonist as compared to the first game. The way the characters develop with the story is so much better this time around.

The single-player campaign is of a satisfying length, probably about 10 hours for me, and while there's no coop mode for the main story, it has it's own side missions that parallel to the main story and the missions are pretty challenging! Though it is somewhat dissapointing that there isn't coop mode for the main story, because with the shear amount of baddies that appear, it would've been great fun!

Resistance 2 is a great game and definitely worth a purchase for those of you FPS fans. Everything about it is better than the first and is very satisfying in all aspects!
