"MUCH better than the first!"

User Rating: 9.5 | Resistance 2 PS3
If I had to sum up Resistance 2 compared to the first in one word/phrase I would say, "MUCH BETTER!" This game is better than the first in every way possible.

Graphics: 9.5. The first game's graphics were quite bad. The game does, however, get a muligan due to its infancy of the PS3, but what an improvement onto Resistance 2. The lighting is perfect. The colors are much more vibrant, and the character models look and feel great. The game just looks fantastic in HD.

Gameplay: 10.0 Ok, Resistance 2 is bigger, better, and much faster than the original. There are about a dozen boss fights that are really epic and the game constantly makes your heart beat faster. There are more guns, more enemy types, more landscapes. This game is just bigger and better than the first in every way possible.

Storyline: 8.5. The storyline is very vague and hard to follow. There are several cutscenes which are quite beautiful to look at, but there is no real storyline that intrigues you. You play as Nathan Hale, a US soldier trying to stop the Chimera from overtaking Earth. That is basically it. You play with sone NPCs, but you never attach to them. The storyline isn't what drives this game. In My opnion, it could have been developed much better. It is, however, more riveting than the first game's.

Sound/Music: 9.0. MUCH better than the first. There are several scores in this game that fit the mood of the action. When the action is creepy, so is the music. There are also radio broadcasts from the era (1950s) throughout the game that help establish sound. There is no real theme song, like in halo though, that make this game stand out.

Replay Value: 9.5. There is an online component to this game, however, I am not an online shooter. I would definitely play this capaign over again. There are several rewards for replaying, stats over your kills, an leveling system for your character to take online, etc. VERY good.

Overall: 9.3. I was not impressed with the first game, but this game takes it to a whole new level. I cannot wait for a third installment.
