Definitely worth playing if you own a ps3.
To start off, Resistance 3 is the best in its series. It improves on almost all aspects were Resistance 2 failed.
Story-
The story in Resistence 3 is about Joseph Cipelli (Sorry about name) He is fighting to save his family not just the world. The story is alot more personal than resistance 2 which is a good thing. The story is also told in a way in which you know whats going on. Something in which R2 failed at IMO. The story is fantastic about 5/6 of the way through, but the ending feels a bit abrupt. Don't get me wrong the ending has closure, its just sudden.
Game Play-
The weapon wheel is back, Which means you are not limited to 2 weapons like in R2. You will need all of them and they are alot of fun to use.
R3 weapons are probably the coolest creative weapons that i've used. They also level up. for example, the shot gun uses normal rounds until its leveled up, then it shoots fire. There is a situation for every weapon and things get interesting when you run out of ammo and have to improvise.
Along with the weapon wheel being back you now have a health bar, thats right, you don't regen every 5 seconds. This adds challenge to the game and works well
Graphics- they are great, some of the best ive seen
Online- The online is drastically different than R2. This will be good for some and bad for others. I am going to give my opinion on the matter so take what i have to say with a grain of salt. You vould love it or hate it.
Ive always considered resistence to be alot like halo for the ps3. When online, it takes alot of bullets to kill people. in otherwords it could take more than a full mag to kill someone. There is alot of customization which is nice, there are basic killstreaks that are helpful. The killstreaks are like how call of duty used to be. simple but effective. There is no customization in this area so the game stays fairly, well, fair. The game is also 8 vs 8 which works but its not as big of scale in R2.
all in all the online is average really nothing new but it works and its fun.
