If you played RE1, it's exactly the same. There's a new campaign. Same gameplay, same graphics. Don't buy it!

User Rating: 2 | Restaurant Empire II PC
I would like to give a detail review but it is too distressing. When I popped into a game shop and saw this game I was like "WOW" and bought it without a second thought. What a mistake I made.

There are two campaigns the first and the second. The first campaign is Restaurant Empire 1 (identical) and the second one has the new coffee shop, dessert shop, and possibly German restaurant (I've reached it yet)

Gameplay: is exactly the same. You have the same chaotic restaurant when the customer faces the waiter and the waiter doesn't move, the customer leaves the restaurant (while his/her partner stays). The difference is that in RE1, the point is to have 100 rep point by competing. RE2 is about TV show! To increase your celebrity rating (ala Jamie Oliver) you have to play the puzzle game (looks pretty much like Bejeweled and other games of that sort). There was also a live performer (piano, violin, singing, etc) for you to hire in your restaurant. I was like "Not bad!" for 3 minutes and that's it.

Graphic: The graphics have not improved at all. From the screenshot and the back of the box, you thought it is better but no. It's the same blocky characters.

Sound: Worse, I dare say. I don't know why the music can be worse, it is. There are series of high notes that can only be annoying. Narrative voice is still non-existent.

You get my point, I don't need to go on. This game is Restaurant Empire expansion and it would be nice if it came out in 2004 as an expansion. It took them merely 6 years to add coffee shop, dessert house, German cuisine, Cheesy live performance and Armand's affair.

Restaurant Empire 1 was one of my all time favourite games but Restaurant Empire 2 is the most disappointing game I've bought so far.
