User Rating: 9.5 | Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War XBOX
Well, having only played through a few of the single player missions and one or 2 online games I'll give my thoughts here. Overall this is a great game. The controls take a little getting used to, but after a couple of minutes you will feel pretty comfortable with the setup. There are options to customize the controller, I didn't spend much time looking at them but it looked like there were a couple of settings very similar to those of Halo. The graphics are pretty darn good I think. It could use a little tweaking here and there, but I'm not big on eye candy...I just like a good game. The sound is great, get close enough to a conversation and listen in on officers discussing Nazi plans. I never played the PC version unfortunately, but from what I've heard from friends that have played it, the Xbox version is at least equally as enjoyable as the PC version. I only played a couple of online games, it seems great but the elimination might confuse people at first if you haven't played before. I sat through 4 matches before I realized I had to choose sides during the "warmup" phase. Also, I got pretty irritated at one person that booted me for NO reason as soon as I joined the game. I would have at least liked some sort of explanation. Oh well, that's for another place. I would highly recommend this game to anyone that likes first person shooters.
