So much like my dreams, it's scary. Even if you have the Dreamcast version, you must get this game and re-live some of

When I first played Rez on the Dreamcast, the first thing I realized that I wasn't as high as I perhaps should've been. After fixing that problem (don't do drugs kids), I realized that it was the most fun and original rail shooter ever made. With ordinary music, it would've been a great game but it was infused with the most fitting techno tracks and the character you play is able to add to the rhythms when he blasts the various enemies who pop up. Of course my description doesn't do it justice but the overall effect is a complete immersive experience in an environment unlike any other I've played through.
When it came out for the ps2, the presence on store shelves for some reason was short lived and the trance vibrator (a brick which vibrates along with the controller when plugged into the usb port: as far as I know, Sony's only "massager" peripheral) package never even made it to the states, which was more of a disappointment to my wife than me. The short shelf life was most unfortunate for the raver ps2 owners out there but very fortunate for anyone who did pick up the game. For a while one could only find used copies of the game on ebay and amazon for well over double the cost from when it was on store shelves. While I would have to say that (for me at least; if I had not already owned the game) $100 would've been a fair price for even a used copy, what I was not prepared to buy used was a used trance vibrator. I'm reminded of Tom Waits' diatribe on used erotica in Big Time (another great OOP work of art): "Will they clean it? WHO cleans it? Are THEY licensed?" I (well... my wife rather) isn't going to find out. Luckily for you (not so much for ebayers) this game has been re-released on the ps2. A company called Game Quest Direct has bought the rights to copy and sell the game so you can now buy it at regular price: http://www.gamequestdirect.com/010086630008.html
And some good news for the ladies: even more recently, National Console Support (another great company that re-releases oop games; a good place to go if you can't find Phoenix Wright anywhere) has re-released the Rez with Trans Vibrator package for ps2 http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/SLPM-62101.html as well as the Dreamcast version (sorry no massagers with that one) for all you die hard Sega fans out there. If you have both a Dreamcast and a PS2, I recommend getting the PS2 version. Even if you already have Rez for the Dreamcast (provided you enjoyed it) I recommend the ps2 version. While you won’t find the details too much sharper, there are some additional levels as well as other unlockables which will lure you into playing the entire game over and over again.
So if you've been looking for a way to get back to your raver roots, trying to figure out how to spark an acid flashback, looking for a game your girlfriend/wife will enjoy, or you're just a big fan of Tetsuya Mizuguchi and those other dosers from Q Entertainment (in other words if you like Lumines, Space Channel 5, Meteos, and just plain trippy games), you need to get this game in one form or another. You wont be disappointed at all. This is one of those games that makes getting a ps2 all worth it.

So you know I don’t (or perhaps do) have horrible taste, the other games I feel made getting a PS2 worth it are: The Burnouts, Katamari (another game that proves the Japanese get better psychedelics than us), and God of War.
