Fun and fast, a delightful Giz game.

Richard Burns Rally on Gizmondo is developed by the same team that did it on consoles, so don't worry about the developer being Gizmondo Games. Gizmondo bought the original company.

The game itself is very good, running well on the Gizmondo with absolutely no slowdown. Detail on the cars and tracks are great, but sometimes a bit blocky. The dust trails and rocks kicked up add a nice layer of realism too.

Another nice feature is just how different the cars and tracks really are. Switching between cars suddenly is a bad idea as each car has noticeably different handling and acceleration times.

The game itself is fun, but can be very hard in Arcade mode, the one used to unlock new tracks and cars. Persevere and you'll have lots of fun with this one, but the Driving School from the console original will be sorely missed by rookies.

The sound isn't too good, engine noises don't have that much variety and there is no worthwhile music, which is a shame because my favourite bit of rally games has long been watching a replay of my driving to some rock song. Your co-driver's instructions are nice and clear, but in the end the on-screen prompts do the job just as well, so my advice is turn the volume down and listen to a CD.
