Rift uses the same dysmal engine as Warhammer Online producing some of the worst combat in MMORPGS. Many times you cannot even tell what is damaging your character as even the enemy swings do not sync very well with the damage they produce.

Animations are laughable. Just jumping as a male character will make you want to ragequit. Character models for males are hideous and femals are above average. Most of the scryped rifts happen on a timer in the exact same location and kill any since of accomplishment for effecting the world your in.

Some of the music is very good, but the combat music will make your ears bleed, and since your in combat most of the time your ears will bleed most of the time. Sound effects from mobs are irritating, mobs go ARGH everytime you agro a humanoid and they are copied directly from Warhammer Online.

As far as professions gathering was copied to the letter from Aion online.

The game is absolutely bland and it's because they did not use a new engine for the game they just used an engine that has already failed.

If you've played Warhammer Online you've already played rift.
