Rift (2011)

A great MMO that stands with the best of the genre

I enjoyed my time with Rift, it has a way of sucking you in and always giving you something to do, without feeling quite like you are on the treadmill with the dangling carrot at the end.

I love the soul system, it was fun mixing and matching and coming up with combinations for various roles. As a raider I enjoyed the encounters in the game, as well as the lore/story throughout. I also liked the dungeons, though some balancing changes ruined them in my opinion.

The developers listen to feedback, and are very quick with the hotfixes and content patches. I played up until 1.6 (from alpha) and only stopped due to the glut of games that came out in October/November. I may go back after I am done with all of these.

Overall it is a solid MMO with a lot to offer. It has a few issues, but nothing game-breaking. If you like MMOs, then I recommend this game
