Instead of taking you back 2000 years in time it takes you back to year 2000, or atleast that's how it feels like.
The story line takes place in ancient Greece, and introduces a lot of characters from well known mythologies. Yet, it still feels like you're stuck in year 2000. First of all, the game mechanics feel very outdated. Controls feel clumsy and the interaction with the environment is nonexistent.
The game describes itself as an action role-playing -title, yet the role-playing elements seem to be rather limited. Your choices mainly consist of deciding in which order the conversation carries out and whether you wan't to equip the new (more powerful) piece of gear or not.
I can't say much about the story. The constant crashes prevented me from adventuring forth, and exploring the lore in depth. Though I got to say the story had some potential in it.
All in all, Rise of the Argonauts feels like an poor attempt to score some cash with the Christmas markets. Controls and game mechanics are way outdated and unless you wan't to play the game for it's story, I really see no reason to recommend it for anyone.
