A mythological adventure

User Rating: 9 | Rise of the Argonauts PC
The Rise of the Argonauts was a completely refreshing game that is high on my list of games I liked. As with Outcast (1999 game) I was brought into the game play by the storyline. I made the choices and enjoyed the path I took. Many games are missed or overlooked because someone is comparing the game to one they have high on their list of enjoyment; such as many of the review sites. They say it was not this or that or this could have been better or the combat was repetitive. Hell, this is a story of Jason and his quest for the Golden Fleece. This is not a COD or MOH game. Nor is it FO3 or Dead Space. This game brings you to a time line that sparks your childhood imagination and allows you to make decisions and fight the epic battles you only imagined as a kid.
The visuals were second to none (computer dependent), and as for the game play, to me it was a refreshing experience from the normal run and shoot. This game requires you to think. The battles you face are fierce and plenty. Your choices make a difference.
Codemaster redeemed themselves with me concerning this game. After the utter failure of Turning Point FOL I was determined to avoid any future games from this developer. But, I was pleasantly surprised. With great visuals and combat; and for me a storyline that was just as good, I would recommend this game to anyone who is open minded to enjoy the game for what it is….a mythological adventure. Every game has its short comings and so did this one. But I had no glitches or crashes and walked away satisfied with the whole gaming experience. If your computer is up to the challenge (all the eye candy was on high for me) then you will be in awe. Enjoy.
