What is wrong with Gamespot? This game doesn't live up to its full potential but its still great at what it does!!!
In my opinion and experience this game is a true RPG game with a very nice story, beautiful environments, nice visuals and decent character development.... But it's stronger feature are the dialogues and the voice-overs...
Sure it has some flaws (especially in combat mode) but they wont take away the fun...
In this game you will explore a good amount of different environments and meet lots of different people... There are also some choices for the player to make (not so direct though).
The story is that you are a cast-away stranded to an island where strange things start to happen. As you try to blend in you will unravel great mysteries....
The character development could have been better but it's still pretty good, with you trying to train yourself to improve your powers and attributes (by requesting training from the right people)... Every time you get a level up you gain "learning points" that will be useful to learn more attributes....
As i mentioned before, this game has GREAT voice acting and innovative dialogue.
All in all this is not one of the best RPGs but is lots of fun and a nice experience... I would give it an 8.0/10.0 but because Gamespot gave it a low score i give it an 8.5...
