What is the main purpose of travelling? Well, it depends on who is travelling and where to. An ordinary John Doe like me can go to the pyramids and be amazed by its unique shape, the beauty of its location and their massive size.
An historian though, would be amazed at them as funerary monuments, for the story that is behing of each of them, for the construction materials actual location and how they were brought to the very constrution site.
Regarding games, I'm just an amateur too. A truly experienced one but an amateur after all. I love gaming but I dont know about the technique to create them or even the very technicians. I dont know how much work is behind them all. However I can appreciate beauty. And that is enough to me.
You come to Riven to travel to a place made by beautiful postcards and your mind does the rest, draws the lines between dots to make it a beliavable place, to make it cozy and awesome.
For most of you of the Halo generation this could be a place to rest between carnages. However I believe that not many of you will be able to appreciate how good a game like this can be. The world we are living now is not meant to people who like staring for a long time to a sunset. And Riven is truly a beautiful one.
