Story
I’ve never even heard of a bigger rip off of this game. Robopon/Pokemon. It’s almost the same game. In Robopon, you go around collecting Robopon, and catching them with Bar Magnets and U Magnets (Pokeball and Greatball?). The goal is to defeat the 7 legends (8 gym leaders?) by strengthening these Robopon. The big difference that Robopon has from the Pokemon series is the battle style. Robopon do not learn moves, but rather receive their moves from software and parts that you can install. They are robots. Anyway, that’s the whole point of the game, and it’s actually kind of cool.
Gameplay
This is one of those games that makes you scratch your head and wonder why it wasn’t popular. It had so many cool features and pretty much bypassed any limitations that the Gameboy Color had. To start, it had a real-time clock. It also had an alarm…not that that’s cool or anything. A very unique feature it had was the ability to act with any infrared remote control, which would open certain treasure chests, and also power up your Robopon.
Even though the game is almost a direct rip off of Pokemon, it’s still a great game to play in your spare time. You are the president of your Grandfather’s company, and you can expand upon it with extra money, as well as invest in laboratories and also sell your Robopon. Trades are available in the game as well. There are 153 Robopon to collect in all.
Graphics
The only lacking part of the game besides the sound.
Durability
It’ll take a while, plus there’s the reminder that all 153 are out there waiting somewhere…by the way…”Gotta Pick ‘Em All” is the game’s motto…doesn’t that sound like…nah, could be a coincidence.
Sound:
Gaaaah, turn it off, turn it off, turn if off!!!!
Controls: It’s an RPG…just the A button to interact and B button to cancel.
