Since New Gen. was my first exposure to Robotech, I was very excited when I heard there would a be a game where you'd get to use a Cyclone. Sure, there'd be no Alphas or Betas (boo-hoo), but it still sounded awesome. Unfortunately, Robotech: Invasion doesn't do much more than sound awesome.

The gameplay isn't really all that bad, it's just not that good. The controls all work, but it's all kinda slow and never has the same feel the series did.

The graphics look pretty good, though. The Cyclones and Invid Shock Troopers are all rendered well, and the backgrounds look good too, even if they are a little bland.

The sound is, again, the best part of this Robotech game. Three words: original voice actors. That's right, the old voices are back, with charaters such as Scott Bernard making short cameos.

The biggest problem with the game is that it is way too short. Now that it's ten bucks used it's okay, but I paid $39.99 new, as me duty as a Robotech fan commanded me. Lemme tell you, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!! Dont' pay more than 10 or 15 bucks for this! It's not worth it! It's fun while it lasts, but the short length, frequent pain-in-the-butt missions, and bland gameplay wont let you play it again. Even the three different ending arent much incentive.

To sum up, unless you are the world's most dedicated Robotech or New Gen. fan ever, this game isn't worth much more than a rent.
