The original dual-stick shooter comes to Xbox Live Arcade and it's still as fun & challenging as ever.

Apparently Xbox Live Arcade is the place to go for dual-stick shooters. Geometry Wars, Mutant Storm Reloaded, & Crystal Quest all share this genre with the original, Robotron: 2084. This is one of those fun, classic games that has you wishing there were more arcades still around. Sure it's a cheap, quarter-muncher that gets too difficult, too quickly. And of course, since it was made in the early 80's........the game is ugly. It doesn't sound very good either.

But what Robotron does give you is a very fun and challenging game. I love dual-stick shooters, so this is my kind of game. Thankfully, most of the achivements are reasonable. Some will have you pulling out your hair, however.

I thought this game was fun for a few short sit-downs. It has been released in Midway's previous 'Arcade Classic' compilations and I had some fun with it there, as well. It's not a game designed to keep you busy for forty hours, but it's fun for awhile and it's worth a download for any Robotron fan.
