We all want to be Rock Stars...some of us just have to Rock Lite.
The set up is very much like the Guitar Hero series where songs are unlocked by completing each section and moving onto the next more difficult section. Each instrument, be it drums, mic, or guitar has its own solo career, and this section of the game is okay but just not as satisfying as getting together with friends. Honestly, the only reason to do a solo tour is to practice, practice, and practice some more until your friends are available to rock again.
This game is the ultimate party game, an outlet for us musicians and rock stars at heart, albeit without the talent. I don't claim I can sing or play the guitar or drums, but I can play a videogame and do pretty well at it. And I have a lot of fun in the process.
If you have a PS3, then you have no reason to look at this game. For the rest of us, this game is everything that made Guitar Hero great, and so much more.
By the way, for those people who may be having trouble getting a couple of the PS2 bundle - there is a way around it that has been tested and verified by myself. It's a bit more expensive, but it works.
First, by the PS2 game without the bundle. Next buy the PS3 bundle pack (usually sells for between $160 and $180). The PS3 guitar, drums, and mic work on the PS2! Simply sell off the PS3 game (or hold onto it for when you finally get a PS3) and get down to rocking! By the way, you'll need to buy a USB hub to connect the extra controllers to your PS2, which has only 2 USB ports (or at least, mine did). Hope this helps those who feel the need to rock immediately.
