I really enjoyed the small amount of casual play I put into this game. I never tried out the competitive queues so I don't have a say in that (if there were any). I revisited the game in January of this year (2024) after having fallen off playing it in 2020. The servers were announced to be shutting down in March, so, as a trophy-hunter, I wanted to clean it up. One of the highlights from the approaching-sunsetting was that the developers dectupled the XP gain from the last remaining queue. This accelerated the process of reaching XP-oriented trophies, such as gaining Level 100 with a champion. My complaint is that soloing the AI-only queue was trite. Your AI companions didn't help much and winning was a frustrating struggle. Having other human players on your side alleviated the strain and brought back the sense of teamwork. Rocket Arena is a refreshingly unique innovation on the Smash Bros.-style ring-out KO mechanic. I would recommend it if it weren't being shutdown at the end of this month!
