Hackingly tactical battles and space travel on a boat?... I'm in!!!

When you get a team like this to make a game, you don't have to say alot about the pristine quality of sound, visuals and character animations, they're all done amazingly and appropriately. They story begins as by throwing you into the action, so you learn how to play before you get much of the story. This is great becuase the battle system is more complicated than some, and difficult to master once multiple characters, abilities, weapons, and items are introduced. There's nothing to worry about, however, because if you just want a strong weapon and some cool effects the simple in-game tutorials will have you winning in no time. Abilities are learned on a grid, by setting various items you find and receive throughout the galaxy. There's also weapon customization and creation, which always speeds up getting those heavy hitting swords.
The main character's origin begins rather bland, another sidewalk baby, taken in and raised, growing with a longing to explore. Then he becomes a repectably awesome character in the end, and if you disagree, well, you can pick any character and control them on the map and through battles instead. A definite overall enjoyable experience to play all the way through. Rogue Galaxy is much more of a purchase than a "no late fees" rental because you will be playing through the entire game and wanting it in your collection, (plus the game is coming down in price too).
