Rogue Galaxy - a Quest you can't live without

User Rating: 9 | Rogue Galaxy PS2
This review will probably not be as long as my other ones, because im still in the process of playing this game.

If you dont already know, this game was originally in japan. you might think that its just the same exact game, with english. well.. WRONG

actually, while its new to us, its a few years old at the same time. Level 5 took the time to not only localize it with the same basic steps, but added a grip of weapons, new planet, quests, etc.

Story:
You play as the young strappin' man by the name of Jaster Rogue. You live with an older gentlemen in a modern town. This older gentleman found you as a baby and has raised you ever since. In reality, you become his family, and thought of as a son.

After your usual spelunking, you bump into a man dressed in desert gear. He is named the desert claw, who which minutes later you find out (he leaves when two other characters are introduced) is a legendary bounty hunter. Suddenly, you become mistaken for the desert claw, because he gave you his sword to hold onto, which is one of the seven special swords.

To shorten this part of the review down, you join the other two characters on a ship with a few more characters (mainly characters you add to your team) on the bounty hunter ship, pretend to be desert claw, then eventually found out that you arent who you say you are suppose to be, but never the less prove to be able to be strong enough to stay apart of the team.

Then, you and the rest of the crew embark on the adventure across the galaxy, trying to reach the worlds most valuable treasures.

Biggest thing about this game that will appeal to any rpg fan, especially hardcore is the fact that there really isn't LOADING times. there might be a time where it loads for at least 3 seconds, but thats it. its all real time movement, unless you watch cutscenes.

GAMEPLAY:
Overall, its dope. there are very common times where the camera will want to fix itself on a certain area, which isnt too much of a bother at times. Battles are RANDOM, yes lol old school, but it flows easily.

buttons are easy to follow and master, so not too bad.

graphically, the scenes and characters each have their own wonderful glow, and its worth taking the time to explore.

MUSIC:
gotta love it, you get the old school rpg feeling, and the same feeling youd get watching it on tv.

the only con i have about this is if you want to make some badass weapons and stuff, you have to get the item, early in the game youll have to fight monsters (who might rarely) drop it. its just a con cuz it can get challenging and repetitive.

pros - loading died
characters
music
story
also extra features.
