As they say, looks aren't everything...

User Rating: 7.5 | Rogue Galaxy PS2
I must say that Rogue Galaxy definitely looks good & plays well, but the main problem I had with it was the voice acting. It's just not there. It tries, but just doesn't make it. And that really took a significant amount of enjoyment out of the game for me. It was actually very hard for me to complete this game because of it. Many of the moments that are supposed to be serious and dramatic just seem shallow because the character development feels rushed and the many of the attempts at humor just come across as weird or annoying. Many of the characters just seem one-sided and I think that's why much of the game seemed so bland and lacking in substance even though the graphics & gameplay are good. I just didn't feel like I could really connect with any of the characters in this game. One of the main characteristics of a good RPG is the storyline, but even if the storyline is good, it just can't work with bad voice acting. I think it could've been a great game if the voice acting and character development was better. But because those things aren't there, and because it had such an effect on my enjoyment of the game, my rating of it goes down significantly as well...
