This game was my second in the ROTK franchise, and probably my last, since I can't find any previous versions. I felt some differences when passing from X to XI... for the better.

Gameplay: The strategy in this game is really immersive. In each turn, 10 days pass. Then, you got a number of points, which you spend with each action. When there are no more points, you can only skip the turn. You can do a hell load of actions each turn, but you have to keep in mind your opponents do so as well. So, better start building those troops fast. Even so, the game pace can be terribly slow. For example, if each month is 4 turns, imagine how much would 50 years be... Also, the menus are rather boring, but it's the base of the strategy, so nothing you can do about that.

Graphics: One can't expect much from this type of game, but I can say the artwork is rather cool. It's well-designed, and good to look at.

Sound: The sound effects are nice, and really give you the impression of a war era.

Replay Value: This game is HUGE. This game has over 20 scenarios to complete, and, if you happen to get a ROTK X game save in the same memory card, you get even more. Plus, the challenges will keep you busy for quite a while.

I throughoutly recommend this fan for any turn-based strategy fan. You don't necessarily need to know the history of the Three Kingdoms, since you can opt for fictional gameplay.

Final Score: 8.4 (Approximately 8.5)
