This is a fantastic game that challenges players not only as military commanders, but also as economists and politicians. The fantastic design of the campaign map allow players to command at the operational level, manuever their armies around and when they engage the enemy it changes over to a fast paced RTS battle in which they can test their skills as a tactician. Success isn't dependent on numbers alone; flanking, terrain, weather, moral, ambush, etc. all play a role, making this game extremely realistic and indepth. The military portion aside, one can also engage in diplomacy and empire building allowing them to determine a grand strategy for the campaign. On top of it all this game has a very intelligent AI which will provide a challenge and a great multiplayer. The only drawback is that navy battles are automatically decided, but in a game this amazing a few flaws can easily be overlooked. More revolutionary then Starcraft or C&C ever were, and much better. Go out and buy it.
