I own all the Total War games and this one represents a big leap forward for the franchise. Game play is similar to the two previous games which is a good thing. The big improvements are in the graphics and in the turn based portion of the game. The turn based game is deeper and more fun to play. The tactical portion of the game is as great as ever, but the improved graphics make it more fun. I always have thought that this type of tactical game play would fit in well with a game like Civilization. The increased depth of controlling your battles would add to the experience. Hopefully that will happen someday! All in all these games have an original style and outstanding game play.
