An easy to use game maker with limitations that make it hard to enjoy, but ultimately a great game. Don't plan ahead!!!!

RPG Maker 3 is probably the easiest RPG maker game; most of the functions are built in, and the graphics, while being ancient, are not marshmallowy, like in RPGM2. With the ease and looks comes a major problem; limitations. You can only have 100 characters (not including shopkeepers) and 100 enemies, and only 300 items. While this seems like very few, it is possible to work with. The character models aren't very good on the male side, although there are a lot of female character models. The class system is annoying because only certain character models can use certain weapons. The map editor is dumb because you can't see the terrain you are editing when you work on hills and such. The dungeon editor is definitely the best because it works on a grid; it is easy to make stairs, traps, locked doors and random battles. Although the game is easier than the rest, it is still hard and things don't always work the way you planned. The storyteller is a great way to make simple cutscenes. Ultimately, this game is great for making your own game. Two things you need to do to enjoy it, however: don't plan your game before you see the games limitations, and get a keyboard. Also, I've found that its best when played with someone else because it doesn't get as boring. For RPGM fans, this is worth the $30.
