Lot's of fun for creating just about anything you want in an RPG.

I'd like to start off by saying that this is my first (and possibly only) break-out from the console RPG Makers, onto the PC. The difference is HUGE.

I've discovered just how limited things were on the consoles, and how unlimited RPG Maker VX is.

It has it's limits, but you can use it's tile sets, sprites, battlers, portraits, and many useful menus to create a game right from the get-go!

Or, if you want to add different sprites, battlers, portraits, and even scripts, you don't necessarily have to be an expert. Though the scripting can be quite challenging at times.

This game has a pretty solid community at rpgmakervx.net and there are many resources available.
That being said, I have heard that XP has a larger community with more resources. I have, I'll admit, never played the full version of XP, just the demo. I was anything but impressed with the demo, but I'm sure that it's a matter of preference.

Ultimately, I have never been so satisfied with an RPG Maker product.

    Even RPG Maker VX has a lot of new and great features, it wasn't worth THAT wait.
