One of the best game's in the series. This game's story is mind blowing! The rpg ish harvest moon is brilliant.
quests that you can do whenever you feel like it.The biggest plus is where the rpg tecniques come into play. Each activity( ex. fishing, mining, etc. ) has a level and most activities cost less rp points the higher the level.Fighting monsters is the newest addition to harvest moon except harvest moon ds.
You can have over 150 weapons and shields that you make ( later in the game sadly, one minor downfall ).But don't worry,in the beggining you will need to get used to the controls area and people,so you will NOT be bored, believe me!You can easily spend the whole day just mining and fighting.Which brings up a comment about dungeons.Dungeons are not like the ones in previous hm games. You do not decend levels,it is more like a field with paths. There is a map on your top screen that shows everywhere you've been.Very useful in the beggining. On that subject, towards the beggining,it will not be necesary to go in the dungeons very often unless by choice. It will mostly be getting money which you can use the dungeons for,or you could stay local.
There are a few annoing parts in this game.Like, once you get 100,000g
( which does not take that long ) you will find yourself with so much money but nothing to buy. This has been a common thing to the hm series except in hm ds, one of the best games ever.Another downfall is characters.Very few of the characters are awesome. Most of the characters either hate you,are snotty, dorky,or uggly.RF1 had much much better characters. In fact,in fact, there is only one or two characters i don't like in that game. The only good characters in RF2 are Barret,Cecilia,Julia, and sorta Egan. And unlike other harvest moon games this one doesn't have a cafe, which stinks.
So,I say watch 3+ videos on RF2 before buying it unless you had two.
And if you have a Wii,check out RF Frontier.
