It's World of Warcraft, but free, what more could you ask for?

Positives
+ Does most of the things WoW does just as well
+ Dual class system keeps combat fresh

Negatives
- Some servers lag
- Big client download takes ages for some

Runes of magic IS World of Warcraft, the menu's have a similar design, the controls are almost the same and even the gameplay is nearly the same.

You need an internet connection and a fairly good PC to play, you then make your account and download the client, this is were my first critisism comes in.

The only way to get the client is through a massive 3.8gb download, for those of you on the average download speed this will probably take nearly a whole day, maybe even more.

After that there's then game updates and patches that need to be done which furthers the wait by a couple of hours at least, but it's nothing to moan at, remember, the game is free!

When your registered and you've downloaded the client you can finally make your character, basic customisation includes hair style, colour, skin tone, muscle, face, facial hair, race and proffession.

Altough there's currently only 1 race (humans) they are releasing the elf race in September 09, so in a months time of me writing this review.

As for classes there's rouge, wizard, fighter, preist, knight or scout, there will also be 2 new classes released with the elf race, warden and druid.

So then your set up you start your quest and level up, meet people, complete instances, everything you can do in World of Warcraft, there's also instances in which you take a group through a portal and go through a mission like stage.

The dual class system is what possibly makes RoM less boring, you can have 2 classes, and you can switch them whenever you go back to your play made house (which you can add furniture to and so on)

So.. for example if your a mage or preist and your bored of spell flinging you can choose a melee class for your second proffession so you can do some hack and slash instead..

Each class has their own armour as in WoW, for example wizards can't wear armour and knights can't wear robes, scouts can wear leather and so on..

There's a max level on 50 at the moment but it could rise, you never know, the game is updated often despite some server lag.

For example, I have a good internet connection but when I head over to one of the big cities in the game I'll lag because there are so many people there, it's a shame as they've put some essentiel hot spots in the city, such as the place to get your secondary class, this may put new players off.

Overall, if you don't want to pay for WoW then RoM is a great alternative that offers everything WoW does.. it's free, so why not try it?
