Featuring terrible graphics and even worse gameplay, RuneScape definitely isn't worth your time or money.
Graphics 1/10 - Seriously, the graphics are the worst ever. They look like they came from before the N64 era. Yes, it's 3-D, but you can really tell where the polygons begin and end, and trees and monsters are even worse. Let me tell you, the only difference between a normal tree and a magic tree is that magic trees have little sparkles going through them, and goblins look more like green splotches on the screen.
Sound 3/10 - I rated this kind of high because there are some decent tunes to listen to, and you can choose which one you would like to listen to, or let the game set the mood for you. However, many of the songs are extremely annoying, and when you attack a monster like a goblin, it makes an annoying high-pitched noise, or when you attack something like a dragon, it uses something like a sound of when a character jumps in water from the 8-bit era.
Gameplay 1/10 - Virtually nonexistent. Each item only has one or two choices for it, and it's mainly just left and right clicking.
Value 1/10 - Value? The game sports that it's free, but the F2P version is so limited that you practically need to be a member ($5 a month) to even slightly enjoy this game. Jagex updates the member version on a regular basis, but the F2P version never receives any updates. The only update I've seen so far is a menu interface change.
RuneScape is definitely not worth any of your time. If you're considering trying it, don't. All the items are practically worthless, and they won't let you talk in caps. Ever. The community sucks, as well. If you're looking for a great MMORPG to play, look no further than World of Warcraft, or if you want 100% free games, try Rubies of Eventide or LastChaos. Stay away from Runescape.
