Does it for some.. dosen't do it for others. If your looking for a simple MMORPG to kill some time then play RS.
Runescape is a browser based MMORPG which was created using Java.
In runescape you create your character and build him/her up to be strong and powerful in over 20+ different skills from agility, firemaking, woodcutting, attack, defense, strength, fishing, cooking, slaying, herbelore, construction, hunter and a good few more..
The graphics aren't great but recently Jgex released a graphics update which makes runescape look appealing.
Once your into it the graphics won't hurt your eyes at all.
Music is poor MIDI format but since it's browser based many people just like to have itunes or windows media player on in the background since runescape dosen't required a super computer as many over MMORPGS do.
The game is free but does have an optional members features which is around £4 ($8) a month which isn't bad.
Members is worth getting, you unlock another half of the map, over a hundred more rewarding quests, powerful weapons and armour and a few more skills to train.
Gameplay is solid and Jagex don't have many hackers like many other free MMO's do, there is a 'report' system were you can report a player who has used offensive language.. tried to scam you out of items or passwords etc..
Occassionally it can be fustrating when your 15 and find 10 year olds playing and your not aloud to swear or anything.. I think if Jagex wanted to make runescape a big competetor for the #1 MMORPG they need to cut out the 10 year olds and make the rules more liberal.

PS- as I said in the review deck runescape does it for some but not everyone.. I reccomend trying runescape for free first and play it for a good week, this game has a lot more to offer than people say.
Even better when you play as a member for only $5 a month.
