An MMORPG needs more than the usual "Kill/Loot/Level" strategy, and Jagex managed to do it on a free web based

Yeah, we all know... The graphics ARE very crappy. But if you're the kind of person that thinks the gameplay comes first on a MMORPG, Runescape is the game for you. Highly addictive, with tons of quests and skills to work on, this game will keep you glued to the screen. Unlike (mostly) other games, you don't need the best sword to be the best player. The skills in RS allow you to build a character that is a master fisher for example. So you think: Why would i need a Master Fisher for? Well, the Master Fisher will easily catch the best fish in the game, and this fish will turn out to be the best food in the game (when cooked by a good cooker of course), and this food can recover lots of health points and heal the fighters that can afford it. All the skills are connected. Of course you could be a jack-of-all-trades but it would take much longer to achieve the higher levels for each skill. Runescape is a free web based game. Create your account, select your server (there are tons of servers too) and play anywhere. This flexibility of playing in any computer, anywhere, is one of the high points of RS. Besides that you can upgrade your gaming experience in RS by subscribing (and paying) for a premium account. Premium accounts include new quests, items, premium-only servers (which reduce the number of players), monsters, skills and brand new areas to explore. You can still have a great experience on RS without subscribing, but the game will be better if you have a premium account. Runescape turned out to be one of the most sucessfull web based MMORPG's in the world, and with all those players, RS will be on the top 10 web based for a long time.
