Classic Action Side-Scrolling RPG for the NES
The gameplay is simple in some ways, yet very rewarding. The main goal is to go through the world (which is not linear), gain power ups, defeat bosses for special items, that allow you to advance to new areas. Sure this idea is used to death in the world of video games today, but in 1987 it was a refreshing and somewhat new idea. Throw in some greek mythology, superb graphics for the time, and very memorable music in the video game world, and you have an excellent game here.
The RPG element just adds to the game, the more you kill, the more powerful you become, and of course the game is non-linear, some parts where you can even stray from your path.
One complaint is the lack of a save feature. Thankfully you have infinite continues, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TURN YOUR NES OFF! And you know those NES' nowadays, they are fragile, so don't even touch your NES if you want to keep your game going! =). The game is challenging, but like any RPG, you can become powerful enough to make it trivial. Should take 5-15 hours depending on if you know where to go.
Highly Reccomended!
