Rygar by Tecmo is a fairly good game. It has some RPG elements in gaining power; but mostly it is a side scroll action/adventure game.

Sometimes it is a little difficult to find where it is you're supposed to go, but there are a few good websites that have walkthroughs and tell you where to go. You can't save the game, but you have infinite continues; so you can keep on playing until you turn the power off.

For the type of game it is surpirsingly long, just when you think you're about to beat it you find even more places that you need to defeat.

Overall, it's a fun game and worth checking out if you enjoy the classics.
