It's interesting playing this game after being present to play Ninja Gaiden. It gains a lot more respect...
It really shows how this game, Rygar, really inspired and was one stage of the Ninja Gaiden game's evolution. From the graphics to the interface - both games that seem centuries apart for the untrained eyes - are similar.
The only problems with it are the short length of the experience, the plain/dull voice acting and the camera... oh, boy, the camera really kills some moments. Like platform jumping, for instance. Sure, you can just skip this part I'm about to describe, but to get most of the useful items in the game, you really need to explore the environments. So, you get onto a platform that is raised all the way to the sky, the camera being at the sky; from there, you need to jump down to a invisible ledge way down at the rock cliff. It's nearly impossible, you need almost to pat your head while rubbing your stomach...
For the rest, this game is really worth playing, sure it's a quick fix for your action game crave, but give it a go and you will be pleased.
